The Human Rights Institute “Bartolomé de las Casas” of the
University Carlos III of Madrid was established by the Real Decreto 843/1993 of 23rd May, even though it has carried out activities from 1990 as a research center.
The Institute consists of a stable research teams composed now by 26 professors and researchers of the University Carlos III of Madrid, of whom, 4 are university professors, 8 are senior lecturers, 7 are lecturers and the rest (7) are assistants and researchers.
The work lines of the team concern, essentially, these topics: Legal Theory, Philolophy of Law, Sociology of Law, Political Philosophy and History, Fundamental Rights, Human Rights, Legal Argumentation, Professional Ethics and Deontology, and Bioethics.
With respect to teaching, the team imparts both graduate and postgraduate courses.
