Prof.Christine Korsgaard
(Harvard University. USA.)


Professor Christine Korsgaard received her B.A. from the University of Illinois and her Ph.D. from Harvard. She taught at Yale, the University of California, and the University of Chicago before taking up her present position at Harvard. In recent years, Prof. Korsgaard has taught courses on Kant's Ethical Theory, Kant's Political and Religious Thought, Hume's Ethical Theory, the History of Modern Moral Philosophy, and Political Philosophy. Her areas of concentration are in moral philosophy and its history, especially in the connection between ethics and practical reason.

* An Interview with Christine M. Korsgaard by Herlinde Pauer-Studer. A German version of this interview was published in Herlinde Pauer-Studer, Konstruktionen praktischer Vernunft. Moralphilosophie im Gesprach. Frankfurt am Main: Suhrkamp Verlag, 2000, pp. 35-66. The original interview was an oral interview, transcribed and then revised and edited by the participants in English. This English version was supposed to have appeared in Constructions of Practical Reason, Stanford University Press, 2003, but through an unfortunate accident Stanford printed the raw oral transcript of the interview instead. The correct version is available here: "An Interview with Christine M. Korsgaard."
